We have been enjoying the sunshine and warmth for the last month and most of the snow has finally melted.  It is definitely starting to feel like spring!

It is an ideal time to spend planning out your gardens and containers for the upcoming season. There are lots of new plants to see and incorporate into your yard.  I am especially excited to see some of the new coral bells and a stunning new supertunia named Pretty Much Picasso.

If you haven't already it is time to start your annuals indoors.   You can also get a jump start on some perennials and other bulbs indoors.

It is still a little early to be raking lawns as the ground is still frozen and there is quite a bit of moisture in the soil.  You may end up damaging you lawn so it is best to wait.

Should you water your trees?  I would hold off on watering your trees as the ground is still frozen and the tree cannot use the water right now.   We will most likely get another cold snap before the trees come out of dormancy so the last thing you want to encourage is new growth.

Let's put the winter blues behind and enjoy the sunshine as spring quickly approaches!
