With the May long weekend fast approaching it is time to get planting.

The city is finally starting to turn green.  Tree, shrubs and perennials are showing signs of life and growing so make sure you are watering them.  Once the plants start to grow you can start to fertilize.  Evergreens, birch and mountain Ash will benefit from the use of at high nitrogen fertilizer (30-10-10).

Our annual bedding plants are arriving daily.  It's time to get inspired and plan your containers.  There are a number of new colourful varieties, try something new this year!

We have a new coir based soil for all those looking for an Eco friendly alternative to peat moss.  We have a 100% Coir loose fill and we also have a coir based potting soil that contains compost that would be ideal for growing vegetables in containers. I am really excited to try this product in my containers this season because it is a natural renewable resource.

If your soil seems to be lacking it is a great time to top dress with compost or manure.  This will add nutrients, help loosen up heavy soils and prepare gardens for planting.  It is also a great time to get your hard landscaping projects done.  Get a patio built in time to entertain for the Stampede!

Happy planting!
