With this hot dry weather be sure to water your trees and shrubs often. Especially water regularly your newly planted trees, shrubs, and perennials. With this hot dry weather, root systems can and will dry up quickly.

This year our trees and shrubs are under a heavy attack of aphids and leaf rollers; especially Ash and Birch trees. We highly recommend using Insecticidal Soap regularly to help control this pesky problem. If you are looking for a quicker more effective method, use a hose end sprayer and apply Malathion on your trees or shrubs. Malathion is a contact insecticide of relatively low human toxicity. When spraying, you should attempt to reach all the foliage as possible to make this product effective. The best time to spray is early morning with no wind. For further information or questions on how to best deal with your pesky problems, ask online or even give us a visit at the store and let our experts help you.

Soon arriving will be our garden mums and fall bulbs. If you’re looking at keeping some vibrant colors throughout our late summer and early fall, adding garden mums is one way to accomplish this. If you were disappointed with the lack of colors in your garden this past spring, try planting fall bulbs this season and avoid any disappointment next year.
